The University of Findlay men’s and women’s cross country teams completed the 2009 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championship on Saturday, October 24 in Linwood, Michigan. The women’s team placed fifth with 161 points while the men took sixth with 175 points.
On the women’s side, Katherine McHenry placed 22nd with a time of 22:46.0 while Rachel Hosie checked in 40th at 23:25.1.
Brier Sterling (23:36.1), Christine Zimmermann (23:49.1), Erin Calvelage (23:52.2), Tracey Stockmaster (23:56.6) and Hilary Esselstein (24:34.0) also competed for Findlay.
On the men’s side, Shoayb Bascal was 19th with a time of 25:45.2 while Kyle Tweed took 25th at 26:00.8.
Craig Wolfe (26:24.5), Jordan Kirwen (26:29.5), Tyler Swartz (27:25.4), Tim Majoy (27:55.3), Joe Guerra (27:59.9), Luis Velasco (28:50.2), Sean Crawford (29:32.3) and Colin Walthour (29:39.1) also competed for the Oilers at the event.
