The University of Findlay volleyball team won Saturday (Oct. 24) against Alderson Broaddus College (25-20, 17-25, 25-22, 25-21) in Croy Gymnasium. With the win, the Oilers improve to 11-16 on the season.

Alderson Broaddus drops to 15-15 on the season.

The Oilers rode the offensive attack of Erin Thomasson and Jenny Slone who had 19 and 17 kills respectively. Courtney Niemeyer also chipped in with seven kills.

Megan Florence set the pace for the offense with 46 assists. Florence also served 2 aces, bringing her season total to 66 and moving her into a tie for ninth place on Findlay's single-season aces list.

The Oilers had a balanced defense with Thomasson leading the way with 11 digs. Abby LaVigne and Florence each had 10, followed by Amanda Binggeli with seven. Binggeli has tallied 236 digs this season, bringing her to 1035 on her career and into 8th place on Findlay's career digs list.

Alderson Broaddus relied on the offensive firepower of Amanda Check and Lindsay Hadley, both of whom had 11 kills on the day. Check also dug 12 balls on defense, and Hadley served three aces.

Battlers libero Ann Federoff led all defensive players with 18 digs.

The Oilers are back in action tomorrow, Sunday (Oct. 25) when they host California (PA) University in a 1 p.m. game.
