Bardall, Mihalic Earn Preseason Accolades

The University of Findlay women’s basketball team was selected to finish third in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) South Division this season as the 2009-10 GLIAC Women’s Basketball Media Poll was released on Wednesday, October 28. The Oilers received one first place vote and a total of 90 points in the poll.

The Oilers finished last season with a 14-13 record and return all five starters to the 2009-10 edition of the squad.

Senior guard Audra Mihalic and sophomore guard Laura Bardall were each tabbed as Preseason All-GLIAC South Division selections as well.

Mihalic was a first team all-conference selection last season after averaging 15.9 points, 5.0 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game. She scored over 30 points in a game three times on the year and dished out a school record 134 assists.

Bardall was a second team all-conference selection last year after averaging 14.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.3 steals per contest. Her 390 points were the most points scored ever by a freshman at Findlay and she really turned it on at the end of the last season, averaging 21.3 points per game in her final six contests.
