University Of Findlay Oilers
Menec Named GLIAC Coach of the Year

Head coach Tomas Menec of The University of Findlay women’s tennis team was selected as the 2009 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Coach of the Year on Thursday, October 29 by the league’s head coaches in all-conference balloting.

Menec has the University of Findlay women’s tennis program heading in the right direction as the Oilers qualified for the GLIAC Tournament for the first time in school history this season. In only his second season, Menec has led the team to nine victories during his career, equaling the total number of victories the Oilers achieved in the four previous seasons before he arrived.

In 2009, the Oilers finished the season with a 2-13 record, placing eighth at the GLIAC Tournament.

In addition, junior Gina Solis and freshman Kelsey Yoder were tabbed as honorable mention all-conference performers.
