The University of Findlay volleyball team won Friday (Oct. 30) against Hillsdale College (13-25, 23-25, 25-16, 25-16, 15-7) in Croy Gymnasium during their last home game of the season. After tonight the Oilers have now claimed six out of their last eight matches and improved to 12-17 on the season with a 4-10 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).
The #23 Hillsdale Chargers fall to 18-7 on the season and 10-4 in the GLIAC.
The Oilers offensive attack was led by junior Jenny Slone who had 15 kills. Junior Abby LaVigne was not far behind with 14 scores.
Sophomore Erin Thomasson added 11 kills while junior Courtney Niemeyer chipped in nine.
Junior Megan Florence set the pace for the offense with 36 assists and also led the defense with ten digs.
The Oilers will be back in action again tomorrow on Saturday, October 31 as they play Glenville State and Lake Erie in Painesville, Ohio. Findlay will play Glenville State at 3:00 p.m. followed by a 5:00 p.m. match against Lake Erie.
