| Oilers Volleyball Continue the Streak |
 Courtney Niemeyer The University of Findlay volleyball team won two matches Saturday (Oct. 31) against Glenville State 25-16, 25-18, 25-16) and Lake Erie (25-10, 22-25, 25-15, 25-15) in Painesville, Ohio. After tonight the Oilers have now claimed eight out of their last 10 matches and improved to 14-17 on the season. In the first game the Oilers offense was led by Courtney Niemeyer with 14 kills. Abby LaVigne and Erin Thomasson both added eight kills. Ashley Lewis paced the team's assists with 15. Megan Florence chipped in with 14. LaVigne led the Oiler defense with 12 digs. In the second game the Oiler offense was led by Jenny Slone who had 13. Niemeyer followed close with 12. Florence dominated the team's assists with 34. Jenna Zeisloft and Amanda Bigney were the head of the Oiler defense with 11 digs each. The Oilers will be back in action on November 6th when they travel to Midland, MI to compete against a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference foe Northwood. That game is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. |
