Baseball: Important Fall Dates

Findlay, OH - The University of Findlay baseball team has multiple important dates in the coming months. In September and October, the Oilers will hold their Fall High School Showcase, the annual Alumni Game and UF Baseball Golf Outing, and the Homerun Derby/Orange and Black Series.

The 2017 Oilers Baseball Fall Showcase will take place on Saturday, September 9 and will begin at 1:30 pm. The cost of the session is $55 and is open to all high school baseball players who wish to display their skill in front of NCAA Division II coaches. On Saturday, September 30, the Oilers will hold their Alumni Game. The game will be played at noon and anyone who wishes to participate can do so by contacting Coach Parrill at parrill@findlay.edu. The following day will be the UF Baseball Golf Outing held at Sycamore Springs Golf Course in Arlington, OH. The outing will begin at 9:00 am.

The final events will be the Homerun Derby and Orange and Black Series. The derby will take place on Tuesday, October 10. Players will sell tickets to their fans and if that person's ticket matches the pitch number of a player's home run, the fan will receive a cash prize. The next day will be the start of the three-day Orange and Black series, the ending to the fall practice season. It is a chance for fans to come and watch the baseball team one last time before they take the field in the spring. The series will begin on Thursday, October 12 and run through Saturday, October 14.
