Q: Use five words to describe yourself:
A: Organized, energetic, determined, easy going, caring

Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: Napoleon Dynamite

Q: How did you get started in volleyball?
A: My Dad was the coach of my sister’s CYO team when I was about 7 or 8 and I was always at their practices shagging balls or at their games keeping score. I grew to love the sport at a very young age. I played CYO ball when I was in 3rd grade, started Junior Olympics when I was 10 years old, played in Junior High, and 4 years of Varsity in HS and now in college. Volleyball was and still is a big part of my life

Q: What are some of your routines on game day or during matches?
A: I visualize the game plan and scouting report the night before the game and then again in the morning while I’m in the locker room listening to my ipod.

Q: If you could eat only one thing for the rest of your life, what would you eat?
A: Spaghetti and Meatballs

Q: How would your teammates describe you?
A: “A ball of joy”

Q: What is your favorite class or professor to date at Findlay, and why?
A: My Writing and Literature Class, taught by Chris Denecker. Even though this is not my favorite subject, she made it fun and was a very kind professor. She had high expectations for her students and pushed every single student to his/her fullest potential.

Q: What is your major? Why did you choose this major?
A: Special Education because I have a lot of patience and I love working with children. My day is complete when I make a difference in a child’s life.

Q: If you could have a meal with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?
A: I would want to have a meal with Taylor Mali, a teacher and poet. For any teachers out there who need a boost of confidence or motivation please read his poem, “What Teachers Make”, it will give you the attitude that you can do anything in life if you put your mind to it. It would be awesome to sit and talk with the most successful and influential teacher and poet.

Q: What is the first thing you think about when you wake up?
A: What do I have to do today?

Q: What is your favorite non-volleyball Findlay memory?
A: Going out to eat, usually at Max and Erma’s with my friends!

Q: Who was your role model as a child? Why? Has it changed now that you’re older?
A: My coach, Lisa Mahlerwein, because she was my coach since I was 10 years old. To me it felt like I grew up with her and it was an awesome and positive experience. She taught me the love of volleyball and was also a great friend to have. Still to this day we are best friends and I think we always will be.

Q: What is the one piece of advice you would give to young girls who want to play collegiate volleyball?
A: Everyone makes mistakes, even professional players. Always keep your head up and if you make a mistake, shake it off and make the next play better.

Q: What annoys you the most?
A: When things are dirty or messy. I am definitely a neat freak!

Q: What do you like the most about being at The University of Findlay?
