Findlay, OH - In the first week of the 2017 season, senior running back Daouda Sylla has earned Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Offensive Player of the Week after a career performance at Tiffin University last Thursday.
Sylla led the Oilers to a 28-13 victory by scoring three touchdowns, tying the Great Midwest record for rushing touchdowns in a game, on a career-high 28 carries. The Ypsilanti, Mich. native ran for 6.5 yards per carry and finished the game with a career-high 183 rushing yards.
It is the first time in his career that Sylla has earned Player of the Week honors. He is the first Oilers athlete to earn a Player of the Week award in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.
