The University of Findlay men's basketball team came away with a 77-55 victory over Michigan Technological University on Saturday, January 16 in Houghton, Michigan. The win, which was their ninth in a row, gives the Oilers a 12-3 record on the season with an 8-2 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).
Senior guard Marcus Parker led the way with a season-high 20 points as he hit 7-of-10 shots from the floor which included a 3-of-4 showing from behind the three point line.
Junior guard Nathan Hyde had 13 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals while freshman guard Aaron Robinson pumped in 11 points and four assists.
Junior forward Tyler Sparks and junior center Jason Wehri contributed ten points and four rebounds apiece during the win as well.
As a team, the Oilers shot 50.0 percent (25-of-50) from the floor and drilled 11-of-19 (57.9%) of their shots from three point range. They also forced 22 turnovers and held the Huskies to a mere 36.0 percent (18-of-50) shooting clip.
The Oilers will be back in action again on Thursday, January 21 when they host Tiffin University at 7:30 p.m. in Croy Gymnasium.
