The University of Findlay men's basketball team earned their 11th straight win with a 73-66 victory over Ohio Dominican University on Jan. 2 in Croy Gymnasium. The win gives the 21st-ranked Oilers a 15-2 record on the season with a 9-0 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).
The Oilers and Panthers battled back and forth for much of the game and it appeared the contest was heading down to the final possession. Up by three at 66-63 with just under a minute to play, senior guard Martyce Kimbrough buried a long three pointer to give Findlay a little breathing room. Kimbrough then iced the game at the line, making all four of his free throw attempts in the final 32 seconds of the contest.
Kimbrough finished the game with 26 points on 7-of-16 shooting while senior forward Taren Sullivan had 21 points and seven boards.
The Oilers shot 45.5 percent (25-of-55) from the floor and recorded 13 steals in the win. They also held a 34-27 advantage on the boards.
The Panthers, who made ten three pointers and shot 48.1 percent (25-of-52) from the floor, received 20 points from Hasan Varence.
The Oilers will be back in action again on Jan. 6 when they travel to Painesville, Ohio for a 1pm contest against Lake Erie College.
