Senior forward Taren Sullivan was named first team all-Midwest Region by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) on March 12.
Sullivan, who was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Player of the Year, is averaging 17.3 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game for the 13th-ranked Oilers. A first team all-conference pick, Sullivan is shooting 53.1 percent from the field and 43.8 percent from behind the three point line.
The Lima, Ohio native was named second team all-Midwest Region for Findlay last year and has accumulated 1,579 career points at Findlay, the 13th-highest total in program history.
Senior guard Martyce Kimbrough was also recognized for his stellar play during the 2017-18 campaign and earned second team all-region accolades. Kimbrough, who was a first team all-region pick last year, leads the Oilers in scoring at 18.1 points per game. A first team all-conference pick this year, Kimbrough is also chipping in 3.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. He has also made 104 three pointers and is shooting 40.3 percent from three point range.
The Lima, Ohio native ranks second all-time at Findlay with 298 three pointers. He also ranks 11th in school history with 1,644 points.
Sullivan and Kimbrough will be back in action again on March 13 when the 13th-ranked Oilers battle 2nd-ranked Ferris State in the Sweet 16 for a chance to go to the Elite 8. The game is scheduled to tip at 7pm in Big Rapids, Mich.
