#14 Oilers to Host Cedarville | Tiffin

The 14th-ranked Oilers will be back at home to host Cedarville and Tiffin this week. The Oilers will host Cedarville on Jan. 31 at 7:30 p.m. before welcoming the Dragons to town on Feb. 2 for a 3:00 p.m. contest.

Series Information

The Oilers hold a 73-23 advantage in the all-time series against Cedarville as the two programs have been meeting on the hardwood since 1910. In their first meeting, the Yellow Jackets came away with a 32-30 win over Findlay.

Earlier this season the Oilers fell 82-69 at Cedarville. The Oilers were outrebounded 38-27 and made only 40.4 (23-of-57) percent of their shot attempts.

Trey Smith paced the Oilers with 18 points while Deven Stover had 15.

The Oilers hold a commanding 47-8 advantage in the all-time series against the Dragons dating back to the 1926-27 campaign when Tiffin won 22-21.

The Oilers overcame a slow start at Tiffin earlier this season to come back and win 82-75. The Oilers were down by as many as 22 points in the first half.

Alex White led the way with 21 points and ten rebounds while Aaron Overhiser contributed 16 points and six rebounds.

Trey Smith scored 14 points, had four rebounds, and three assists while sophomore Tommy Schmock scored nine points and had six assists.


The Oilers are 16-3 on the season with a 10-2 record in conference play. They are coming off of a 68-49 win at Kentucky Wesleyan on Jan. 26.

The Oilers lead the conference in scoring average, posting 84.9 points per game. They also lead the league in field goal shooting percentage at 49.9 and are ranked first in assists per game at 18.3.

Senior forward Alex White leads the team and is averaging 17.4 points, 9.1 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per contest. He is ranked second in the league in blocked shots per game, third in rebounding and fifth in scoring.

Junior forward Aaron Overhiser is having a great year as well and is averaging 15.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per contest. He has made 54.4 percent of his field goal attempts and is hitting 47.8 (32-of-67) percent of his three point tries.

Senior guard Trey Smith is scoring 12.0 points per game and has made 45.0 (45-of-100) percent of his three point tries while sophomore forward Anthony Masterlasco is also averaging double figures at 10.6 points per outing.

Sophomore forward Chazz George are scoring 7.7 points per game while sophomore guard Tommy Schmock is contributing 7.3 points and a league-best 6.2 assists per contest.



The Yellow Jackets are 12-8 on the season with a a 9-3 record in league play. They are coming off of a 75-72 win over Ohio Valley on Jan. 26.

Conner TenHove leads the team with an average of 16.7 points per game while Branden Maughmer is scoring 14.0 points per outing. Grant Zawadzki and Kollin Van Horn are also averaging in double figures, scoring 11.4 and 10.8 points per game, respectively.



The Dragons are 7-13 on the year with a 3-9 mark in league games. They are coming off of an 83-69 loss against Ohio Dominican on Jan. 26.

Joshua Williams leads the team and is averaging 18.2 points per contest while Shane Waldon is contributing 16.2 points per outing. Austin Adams is also averaging in double figures at 13.8 points per game.
