The 8th-ranked University of Findlay men's basketball team escaped Painesville, Ohio with a 71-68 win over Lake Erie College on Feb. 14. The victory gives the Oilers a 20-3 record on the season with a 14-2 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).
The Oilers turned the ball over a season-high 18 times, but connected on 50.9 percent (27-of-53) of their shot attempts. They also held a 42-35 advantage on the boards and limited the Storm to a 36.8 percent (27-of-70) shooting clip.
The Storm were led by Gabe Kynard's game-high 24 points and nine rebounds.
The Oilers will be back in action on Feb. 18 when they host Wilberforce University at 7pm in the Croy Physical Education Center.
