#8 Oilers Head to Ohio Dominican | Ohio Valley

The eighth-ranked Oilers take on Ohio Dominican and Ohio Valley this week. They play the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 21 in Columbus, Ohio and face the Fighting Scots at 3:00 p.m. on Feb. 23 in Vienna, W. Va.

Series Information

The Oilers have posted a 34-8 advantage in the all-time series against Ohio Dominican dating back to the 1969-70 campaign when they were victorious by a score of 87-69.

Earlier this season the Oilers came from behind to top the Panthers 89-82 in Croy behind 22 points and ten rebounds from Alex White. Tommy Schmock also recorded a double-double with 15 points and ten assists.

Aaron Overhiser reached double figures with 15 points in only 19 minutes of action while Trey Smith had 13 points and four steals.

The Oilers hold a 6-0 advantage in the all-time series against Ohio Valley dating back to the 2002-03 campaign when Findlay came away with a 94-73 win.

The Oilers crushed the Fighting Scots 93-51 in Croy earlier this season. Aaron Overhiser led the way with 23 points on 9-of-12 shooting while Anthony Masterlasco had 16 points, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals.

Chazz George finished with 13 points while Ethan Linder had 12 points and five assists.

#8 Findlay

The Oilers are 21-3 on the season with a 13-2 record in conference play. They are coming off of a 75-70 win at Hillsdale on Feb. 9.

The Oilers lead the conference in scoring average, posting 85.5 points per game. They also lead the league in field goal shooting percentage at 50.6 and are ranked first in assists per game at 17.7.

Senior forward Alex White leads the team and is averaging 17.4 points, 9.1 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per contest. He is ranked second in the league in blocked shots per game, fourth in rebounding and fourth in scoring.

Junior forward Aaron Overhiser is having a great year as well and is averaging 14.8 points and 6.4 rebounds per contest. He has made 54.5 percent of his field goal attempts and is hitting 47.4 (36-of-76) percent of his three point tries.

Sophomore forward Anthony Masterlasco is also averaging double figures at 11.0 points per outing while senior guard Trey Smith is scoring 10.9 points per contest and has made a team-high 49 three pointers.

Sophomore forward Chazz George are scoring 8.9 points per game while sophomore guard Tommy Schmock is contributing 7.5 points and ranks second in the league with 6.2 assists per contest.


Ohio Dominican

The Panthers are 15-9 on the season with an 11-6 record in league play. They have won three straight contests.

Sam Hickey leads the team and is averaging 17.1 poinuts per game while Hasan Varence is averaging 16.3 points and 9.5 rebounds per outing. Ryan Hoying is also scoring in double figures at 10.7 points per game while Tahj Curry is averaging 9.8 points per contest.


Ohio Valley

The Fighting Scots are 9-14 on the season with a 4-13 mark in league play. They have been led by Kenneth Miller and his 16.3 points per game average.

Christian Alley is scoring 13.8 points per outing while Ty Dobson is contributing 11.7 points per contest.


Chasing 1,000

Senior forward Alex White is looking to become the 47th player at Findlay to eclipse 1,000 career points. White has scored 935 points during his tenure with the program.

Putting Up Points

Senior forward Alex White is closing in recording a top-30 scoring season at Findlay. White has produced 417 points this year, the 42nd best mark in school history. To break into the top-30, White needs to eclipse the 491 points scored by Brian Vorst (1991-92) and George Keller (1959-60).

King of Block

Senior forward Alex White has recorded 118 blocks during his career with the Oilers, the best total in school history.
