The University of Findlay men's soccer team lost a close battle to #2 nationally ranked and Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) rival Saginaw Valley State University 1-0 on Sunday, September 28 at DeHaven Field.
The lone goal of the contest occurred when Craig Neal scored unassisted at the 8 minute mark for the Cardinals.
The game was very tight as the Cardinals had the edge in shots (13-10) and the Oilers had the edge in corner kicks (6-4), unfortunately the Oilers could not capitalize on their scoring opportunities.
Findlay goalkeeper Joe McClanahan took the loss in the net and two saves in the process.
The Oilers, who are now 2-6 on the season, will travel to Canton, Ohio to face GLIAC foe Ferris State University on Friday, October 3.
