The University of Findlay men's soccer team lost 5-1 against 23rd-ranked Saginaw Valley State University on Friday, Sep. 25 in University Center, Mich.. This loss takes the Oilers record to 3-3 in the season with a 2-2 mark in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play.
The match's first 2 goals were scored by Cardinal strikers freshman Andrew Dalou and junior Jordan Kalk. Findlay's offense was able to capitalize off of 3 shots on goal. In the 37th-minute sophomore defender Johnny Clark scored for the Oilers off an assist from senior Mark Sleasman.
Saginaw scored again in the second half by Kalk in the 59th-minute, giving him 2 goals for the match. Sophomore midfielder Aleksandar Isaevski scored for the Cardinals in the 69th-minute of play while the final goal for SVSU was finished by senior midfielder Troy Watson in the 77th-minute.
Junior goalkeeper Joe McClanahan took the loss in goal but acquired 4 saves for the UF defense.
The Oilers play again on Sunday, Sep. 27 at Northwood University in a match slated to start at 12 p.m.
