Findlay, OH – The University of Findlay men's soccer team hosted the Cedarville Yellow Jackets in a conference match up on Saturday Sept. 22 at 1:00 PM. The Oilers took a 2-1 loss to the Yellow Jackets to give them a 2-6 record on the season and 2-3 in league play. The Jackets improve to 4-4-1 on the season and 3-1-1 in the conference.
The first half was as back and forth battle of possession until a Findlay foul led to a penalty kick for Cedarville in the 39th minute. The kick was good, giving Cedarville the 1-0 advantage going into half time.
The second half began with both teams aggressively attacking the ball with each side committing fouls one after the other. In the 74th minute Cedarville was able to take their lead to two over the Oilers. Findlay was able to fight back two minutes later with a goal by junior Josh Dickinson, making the score 2-1. The Oilers were unable to find the back of the net for the remainder of the game.
Senior Nathan Sier was in the net for the Oilers making three saves in the loss.
The Oilers will be on the road on Thursday Sept. 27 to take on the Malone University Pioneers. The match is set to being at 11:00 AM.
