The University of Findlay men's and women's swimming and diving teams completed their first home meet of the season against Ashland University at Sink Natatorium on Friday, October 18. The men were defeated 142-75 while the women fell 121.5-101.5.
On the women's side, the relay of sophomore Jessica Ward, sophomore Kaley Holmstrom, freshman Emily Annen and junior Molly Cade led off the meet with a decisive victory in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:50.76.
The Oilers first individual victory came in the 50-yard freestyle where Ward won with a time of 25.35.
Ashleigh Weddington was a double winner on the boards, winning with scores of 242.71 on the 1 meter and 252.01 on the 3 meter board.
Cade took home a victory in the 200-yard butterfly leading with a time of 2:13.12
On the men's side, junior Diego Santos took home the first place prize in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:00.73.
The final winner on the men's side was freshman Todo Djurovic, winning the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:08.96.
The Oilers will be back in competition on Saturday, October 19 at 1 p.m. in the Sink Natatorium.
