The University of Findlay men's tennis team found great success at the ITA Regional Tournament over the weekend in Grand Rapids, Mich.
The Oilers doubles team of Manuel Ringlstetter and Robin Semal earned a championship in the "A" bracket, posting a 5-0 record. They won the championship by taking down top-seeded Andy Blair and Lukas Kriem of Drury, 8-4 in the finals.
John Kidd won the "B" singles championship with a 5-0 record, defeating Fausto Cordova of Indianapolis in the finals by a score of 4-3 after retirement. He also reached the semifinals of the doubles "A" consolation bracket with teammate Yannick Mohring before they were eliminated by Lewis' Mate Srdanovic and Armand Levandi by a score of 9-8.
Djordje Ljubinkovic and Reid Wynkoop teamed to win the "B" doubles consolation tournament with a 3-0 record. They claimed the title with an 8-2 victory over Rockhurst's Antonio Mizuno and Luke Salisbury.
Wynkoop also finished second in the "B" singles consolation with a 4-1 record as he was eliminated by Grand Valley State's Ben Esh-Nauta in the finals by a score of 6-1, 6-1.
