The University of Findlay softball team won their first two games of the season at the Smash Hit Spring Tournament in Savannah, Georgia. The Oilers defeated Edward Waters by a score of 12-0 and also came away with a 7-5 victory against Tennessee Wesleyan.
In the first game, Jackie Messersmith and Tawna Whited combined on a no-hitter in the five-inning game. Messersmith earned the victory by pitching four innings to go along with five strikeouts.
Kara Hochevar went 3-for-4 with a pair of runs-batted-in while Tori Allen drove in two on a pair of hits.
In the second game, Allen drove in four with two hits while Calli Coppus registered a pair of hits and two RBI's.
Alyssa Shultz picked up the win after allowing two runs on two hits in five innings of work.
The Oilers will be back in action again tomorrow when they play Malone and Brewton Parker.
