The University of Findlay softball team lost a pair of games on the road to Northwood University on Friday, April 13. The Oilers fell 9-8 in the first game and then lost 3-0 in the second to give them a 19-16 overall record and an 10-10 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).
In the first game, Tori Allen went 3-for-3 at the plate as she tied the Oiler record in doubles in a season (16) with a two-base hit in the top of the second frame. Allen also added two runs and two RBI for Findlay in game one.
Jenna Motuza generated three hits and two runs-batted-in for Findlay and catcher Lauren Mathias homered in inning two. Despite the five-run lead, the Timberwolves bit back and finished the seventh frame with six runs off of eight hits.
Grace Ammons took the loss after allowing five runs on 12 hits in 5.2 innings of work.
In the second game, Brittany Dauterman was saddles with the loss after allowing three runs on seven hits in seven innings of action. Dauterman also produced five strikeouts.
The Oilers will play at Lake Superior State for a doubleheader tomorrow, starting at 1 p.m.
