The University of Findlay softball team swept Urbana University on Thursday, April 4, at Anderson Field. The Oilers came away with a 1-0 win in the first game and 6-5 victory in extra innings for game two. Findlay improved to 14-8 on the year.
Tawna Whited pitched a gem in the opener, throwing seven innings of scoreless ball. She allowed two hits and struck out six.
Whited homerun in the bottom of the second was the lone Findlay run of game one.
Brittany Dauterman picked up the victory in the second game, allowing five runs on four hits and one walk. Dauterman fanned 11 batters on the mound.
Allen went 3-for-4 at the plate and produced two RBI in the nightcap.
The University of Findlay softball team will be back in action on Saturday, April 6, for a doubleheader against GLIAC rival Ashland Univeristy. The twinbill is slated for 1 p.m.
