Gambier, OH – The University of Findlay men's and women's swimming and diving teams competed in the Kenyon College Fast Chance Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 23.
Amanda Stiegal set a new school record in the 50 yard freestyle race with a first place finishing time of 23.33. Previously, the record was held by Lindsay Hatteberg in 2009 with a time of 23.46.
Katy Kouvaris placed first in the 100 yard butterfly event with a time of 55.95. Teammate Chris McFarland was right behind her in second place with a time of 56.85. Kouvaris also took first in the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:06.34.
McFarland had a 'B cut' first place finish in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 55.80.
Julia Snell took first place in the 100 yard breaststroke time trial with a 'B cut' time of 1:04.12. She also took first in the 200 yard breaststroke time trial with another 'B cut' time of 2:18.73.
A new school record was set in the men's 100 yard breaststroke by Isaac Stretch with his time of 56.12. He beat the previous school record of 56.55 set in 2014 by Todo Djurovic.
Another record breaker was Paul Pavala, who reset his own record from this year in the 200 backstroke. He previously swam a 1:50.47 and today he swam a 1:49.28.
Hanna Cederholm took a first place finish in the 200 yard breaststroke with a time of 2:20.64.
