The University of Findlay men's and women's track and field teams competed today at the Findlay Meet for Everyone in Findlay, Ohio on February 16.
Junior Austin Combs earned first place in the men's shot put with a provisional qualifying throw of 17.79m (58-04.50).
In the men's high jump, senior Trey Everett jumped for 2.05m (6-08.75) earning him first place and a provisional qualifying mark.
Freshman Jacob Montag tied for first in the men's pole vault, with a vault of 4.40m (14-05.25).
In the men's triple jump, freshman Ashton Jones jumped for 13.29m (43-07.25) to take first place.
Freshman Martin Etsey took first place, jumping for 6.66m (21-10.25) in the men's long jump. Freshman Babafemi Ayeni and Junior Khalil Capers helped the Oilers earn three of the top five spots in the event. Ayeni jumped for 6.51m (21-04.25) to take second place, and Capers placed fourth with a distance of 6.44m (21-01.50).
Findlay claimed three of the top five spots in the men's weight throw. Combs threw for 21.09m (69-02.50) to earn first place and hit a provisional qualifying mark in the event. Freshman Dequan Lovell took third with a provisional qualifying distance of 18.78m (61-07.50). Sophomore Javian Martin claimed fourth place, throwing for 16.34m (53-07.50).
Freshman Joe Lauck earned second in the men's 400 meter dash with a time of 52.44.
In the men's 60 meter dash, junior Jaye Williams ran a 6.99, finishing second in the event.
Junior George Effah placed third in the men's 200 meter dash 3 with a time of 22.57.
Senior Milani Glass took first place in the women's 60 meter hurdles running an 8.89.
In the 60 meter dash, Glass earned second place with a provisional qualifying time of 7.70.
Senior Alex DeVincentis placed second in the women's shot put with a provisional qualifying distance of 14.80m (48-06.75).
DeVincentis threw for 17.94m (58-10.25) earning second place in the women's weight throw. Her throw was a provisional qualifier and a new league record. Junior Holly Averesch took third in the event with a provisional qualifying throw of 16.96m (55-07.75).
Shipman earned third place in the women's long jump with a distance of 5.40m (17-08.75). Shipman also took third in the women's 200 meter dash by running a 26.54.
