Lenell Shelby III Earns Athlete of the Week

Findlay, Ohio - University of Findlay track and field junior Lenell Shelby III has earned his place as the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Men's Track Athlete of the Week after his performance at the Adidas Winthrop Invitational this past weekend. Shelby III was selected for the honor based on his finish in three different races.

Individually, Shelby III participated in the 400m hurdles and met the provisional time in the event, racing to the finish in a time of 52.93. That time gave him a second place finish in the event and is the fifth-fastest time in DII so far this season.

Later, in the 4x400m relay, Shelby III teammed up with Jaye Williams, Lane Kolb, and Xavier Marable to finish in a time of 3:15.30, the fastest time in G-MAC history and sixth-best time in the country this year.

The day was capped in the 4x100m relay where Shelby III, Williams, Zach Jellison, and Ethan Pensante ran the race in a time of 42.14, the third-fastest time in G-MAC history.
