Oilers in 5th at Falcon Invite


The University of Findlay women's golf team completed day one of the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational on April 7 at the Stone Ridge Golf Club in Bowling Green, Ohio. The Oilers, in a field of 16 mostly made up of NCAA Division I programs, are tied for fifth place with a 311.

Freshman Kristina Kniesly paced the team with a 3-over par score of 75, the third-best score of the afternoon. Kniesly shot a 2-under par score of 34 on the front nine and a 5-over par score of 41 on the back for her total.

Junior Makenzie Torres is tied for 15th after posting a 5-over par score of 77 while sophomore Mackenzie Keenoy is tied for 30th with a 79.

Sophomore Meredith Wipper is tied with senior teammate Kelsey Koesters for 37th as they both posted an 80 and junior Samantha Hatter is tied for 58th with an 83.

Sophomores Samantha Kellstrom and Mikaela Hickey are also competing for Findlay at the event and are tied for 68th with an 85.

As a team, the Oilers ranked third on the day with seven birdies and posted 49 pars, the fourth-best total.

The event will continue tomorrow.
