Wimer Brothers Each Earn All-American

Cleveland, Ohio – The University of Findlay wrestling program saw a pair of athletes earn their place as all-Americans on Saturday, March 9 on the final day of the NCAA Division II Wrestling National Championship. Brothers James Wimer and Josh Wimer finished sixth and eighth, respectively.

The Roughnecks have had at least one all-American in every season dating back to 2011.

James Wimer won his first two matches of the event yesterday and today fought his way into the fifth place match. In that bout, Wimer fell by a 5-3 decision. For the year, James Wimer had a record of 31-17 at the 157-pound weight class. It's the first all-American honor for James.

Josh Wimer also earned his first all-American honor, taking eighth place in the 149-pound class. Josh dropped both matches he participated in on Saturday, the last of which was a 6-3 decision to Kyle Rathman of Minnesota St.-Mankato. Josh Wimer finishes the year with a record of 24-14.
