Elkins, WV – The University of Findlay women's soccer team defeated the Davis & Elkins Senators in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play on Thursday, September 28 in a 1-0 final. The victory improves the Oilers to a 3-7 overall record with a 2-4 record in G-MAC play.
The Oilers fired off 17 shots with four shots on goal during regulation and were able to limit the Senators to only four shots and one shot on goal. Findlay had four corner kick opportunities during the contest.
90 minutes of regulation play was not enough as the score was tied 0-0 to start overtime.
The tie would not last long as sophomore Sierra Peacock scored a breakaway golden goal just over a minute into the first overtime period. This was Peacock's second goal of the season.
The Oilers will be back on the field on Saturday, September 30 when they travel to Alderson Broaddus for another G-MAC contest. The match is set to begin at 5:00 PM.
