Painesville, Ohio- The University of Findlay women's soccer team competed on the road against conference foe Lake Erie College on Friday, September 27. The Oilers move to 3-0-1 (1-0-1) after their shutout victory over the Storm, 3-0.
The Oilers were firing on all cylinders in their first away contest of the season. The Oilers offensively had a total of 19 shots with 14 of those being on goal whereas Lake Erie had a total of 4 shots in the 90 minute game.
Senior Sierra Peacock had a stellar game. Peacock scored two goals in the 26th and 48th minutes. Just after her first goal of the game, Peacock assisted junior Paige Casto for another Oilers' goal at the 29 minute mark . Peacock led the Oilers with 5 shots, followed up by freshman Jayla Campbell and sophomore Oliva Frank with three a piece. Freshman Sam Francis and freshman Addie Graham also had a pair of shots taken in the game.
Junior Nicole Burke helped the Oilers to another shutout victory including one save on the one shot on goal attempt from the Storm.
The Oilers will turn around in just two short days to go up against Ursuline College on Sunday, September 29 for a 1:00 p.m. scheduled start. The game will be play at Ursuline College Sunday afternoon.
