Sophomore Samantha Sweet was named the 2018-19 Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Player of the Year on April 26. Sweet, who is the first Oilers player in program history to receive conference player of the year honors, was also named first team all-league.
Sweet has posted 14 wins in singles competition this year and has added another 14 in doubles. She is also undefeated in conference play at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles.
In addition, Laiying Alvarado was tabbed the 2018-19 Freshman of the Year and also earned first team all-conference accolades. Alvarado has a 12-2 record in singles competition this season and is 10-3 in doubles.
