The University of Findlay men's and women's outdoor track and field teams completed the first day of competition at the 2012 NCAA Division II National Championship on Thursday, May 24 in Pueblo, Colo.
Jessica Rowland led the way with a runner-up finish in the hammer throw as she recorded a toss of 197'11, earning All-American honors in the process.
Derrick Vicars was named All-American in the hammer throw as well, finishing sixth with a mark of 206'11.
In preliminary action, John Guagenti qualified for the finals in the 400-meter dash after racing to a third place finish in a school record breaking time of 46.34.
The event will continue again tomorrow and conclude on Saturday.
