Oilers Complete Hillsdale Invite


The University of Findlay men and women's track and field team completed the Hillsdale Invitational on Saturday, April 13 in Hillsdale, Mich.

The men's 4x400-meter relay team of Kyle Smithey, Jacob Miller, Nathan Ritzler and Joe Sherrieb placed third with a time of 3:27.97.

Individually, Smithey placed third in the 400-meter hurdles (56.25), and sixth in the 110-meter hurdles (15.92), while Ritzler placed third in the 100-meter dash (11.61). Sherrieb also took seventh in the 400-meter dash (52.08), and Miller finished eighth in the 200-meter dash (23.11).

In men's field events, Glen Forsythe placed third in the long jump (22'00.25), In front of Sherrieb who took fourth (22'01.50), and Colin Thomas who took fifth (22'07.75).

Thomas also placed second in the triple jump (46'03.50), while Elliott Westerbeck finished fourth in the javelin (119'09), and Parker Schroder took fifth in the discus (141'06).

On the women's side, the 4x400-meter relay team of Emily Caudill, Deidre Latham, Taylor Ackerman and Kayla Sendelbach finished fifth with a time of 4:09.69.

Individually, Ackerman also took sixth in the 200-meter dash (27.33) and Sendelbach finished seventh in the 800-meter run (2:21.18).

In field events, Lydia Guagenti placed second in the high jump (5'04.50), while Stephanie Donaldson took sixth in the discus (118'05), and Anna Knapski finished seventh in the hammer throw (134'07).
