The University of Findlay volleyball team came from behind to defeat #25 Rockhurst University by a score of 3-2 (22-25, 21-25, 29-27, 28-26, 15-12) on September 9, 2013 in the Oilers home opener.
The Oilers got behind early, dropping the first two games of the match before winning three consecutive sets to improve to 4-1 on the year.
Findlay was led on offense by three players who have been off to a strong start early in the season. Senior Mackenzie Vorst racked up 19 kills in the dramatic five-set victory. Junior Lindsy Reindel and senior Danielle Taflinger contributed 18 and 16 kills, respectively.
Taflinger was on fire hitting .406 for the match.
Junior Amanda Calhoun was a key for the Oilers as she collected 63 assists and ten digs.
The Oilers will continue to host their tournament tomorrow in Croy Gymnasium.
