Oilers Hit the Road for 2 More GLIAC Games

The Oilers will be back out on the road for a pair of Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) contests this week at Lake Erie and Ohio Dominican. The Oilers will play the Storm on Oct. 28 at 7pm in Painesville, Ohio before facing the Panthers at 2pm on Oct. 29 in Columbus, Ohio.

The Oilers are 16-6 on the season with a 9-2 record in conference play. The Oilers are leading the GLIAC South Division and are second overall in the league standings.

Senior Hannah Tong is ranked second in the GLIAC with 4.06 kills per set and is third overall with a total of 325 kills on the year.

Sophomore Amanda Winner leads the GLIAC with 51 aces and also ranks ninth overall with 276 kills while senior Mallorie Kah is ranked second in the conference with 1.20 blocks per set. She also ranks third in the league with a total of 95 blocks.

Sophomore Hailee Olson leads the GLIAC in assists per set at 10.78 while junior Nickyla Garverick has the league's best hitting percentage at .374.

Defensively, sophomore Kara Scherger ranks fifth in the GLIAC in digs (364) and digs per set (4.55).


Lake Erie

The Storm have a 14-12 record on the year with a 5-5 mark in conference play. They have five players over the 200-kill mark on the season and are led by Crystal Kedroske, who has 260. Lee Lee Barrett (230), Brooke Peiffer (229), Lexi Lombardo (207) and Bethany Fisher (203) are the others.

Barrett has also recorded 103 blocks while Alexis Thomas has 959 assists and 263 digs.


Ohio Dominican

The Panthers are 8-12 on the year with a 3-7 record in GLIAC play. Tory Thompson leads the team with 340 kills and has also registered 246 digs.

Kelly Nadler has recorded 236 digs and 59 blocks while Jackie Oestreich has produced 189 kills and 75 blocks.



AVCA/NCAA Division II National Poll
