The University of Findlay volleyball team went 1-1 in St. Augustine, Fla. on Aug. 24 to open their season, beating Saint Leo by a score of 3-0 (25-16, 25-21, 25-23) before falling 3-2 (23-25, 14-25, 25-21, 25-16, 16-18) to No. 3 Minnesota-Duluth in their second match of the day.
In the Oilers 3-0 win over St. Leo, junior Shelby Kin paced the team with 14 kills and hit .500 during the match. She also recorded two blocks and had a pair of aces in the victory.
The Oilers fell behind 2-0 to No. 3 Minnesota-Duluth before battling back to force a game five. The Oilers went up 14-13 in the fifth set before falling in the end.
Kin once again led the Oilers with 11 kills and eight blocks while Moore had ten kills and five blocks.
Murphy registered nine kills while Winner had six kills and ten digs.
Olson recorded 33 assists, six digs and five blocks in the match as well.
The Oilers will be back in action tomorrow when they face No. 25 Flagler and Erskine.
